Celeste's Sunflower | square oil painting
“Celeste's Sunflowers” is an original 5x5” oil painting on canvas, inspired by the fall colors and foliage. Sunflowers, for whatever reason, are similar to Cardinal birds, in that they seem to reconnect us to special people we have lost. The birds plant sunflowers in my backyard, as they eat from the feeders nearby. I see these sprouting up, turning towards the sunlight and smile, as though each is a cheerful hug from a family member or friend who has died.
This year, my husband and I took our four children to explore acres of sunflowers at a local farm, and the colors in the various types of sunflowers was so inspiring! Though the kids had a good time there, they were not nearly as excited about it as I was. They kindly appeased me in my frequent stops to get a closer look at individual sunflowers, capturing photos and feeling my awe overflow.
The sunflowers called me to paint them, and it became a joyful process I had not planned, nor expected. I hope this series brings that happiness and connection to you, as well. Sunflowers only last a short while in life, but by painting them, I hope they find the people who see meaning within them.
Shipping
Studio Pick Up is available for local buyers to pick up from the studio within 7 days of purchase (we will arrange a time and date after purchase). If shipped, your painting will be gift-wrapped in kraft paper, cushioned, and carefully packaged in a sturdy box or ridig mailer. Shipping includes tracking, which will be e-mailed to you. Most paintings ship within 5 business days. Please allow up to two weeks for arrival. International shipping may take longer.

Materials and Care
This painting was created in oil paint on 5x5" gallery-wrapped canvas. The canvas is 1.5" deep and is ready to hang on the wall or display on a shelf. Gently dust with a clean, dry cloth as-needed.
