The Two That Got In

I remember last year crying literal happy tears upon the news that my painting, The Next Twenty Years, got accepted in a juried local art exhibit near Grand Rapids. It was the first time I had ever been accepted, and it thrills me to share that I’m starting 2022 off on that same high note: two of my paintings were accepted into a local juried art exhibit that comes to the Forest Hills Fine Arts Center next month!

“Come Home” and “Swept Away” were the two accepted into this exhibit, and even though I always paint for myself and to share the message of my subject, having that external validation definitely is encouraging! These two were among 89 selected of 205 submissions, and I am looking forward very much to seeing them hanging on the walls of this beautiful art facility. Even more, I am eager to mingle with the lovely faces that come to see all the artworks up close. If you are a Michigan local or will be in the Grand Rapids area, I warmly invite you to attend! The display will be open to the public February 3 through March 18th.

Thank you warmly for your support and encouragement as I continue on this journey! It means so much to me to know that art lovers are out there and that the art carries its beauty and messages to others who appreciate it. Today, I entered my newest painting— the first one of 2022— into a regional art competition. It is a tough one, and I am keeping my fingers crossed. Send all those good vibes my way, please! I’ll let you know when I hear back from them if the painting was accepted or not.
